Build and Defend Your Raft Upgrade the Crafting Table

Better gear is locked behind table tiers. Feed it first, decorate never-first.

Crafting Table Guide

Raft Pirates put the Crafting Table in the store description on purpose: upgrade it to unlock better gear. Every wall, cannon, and raid tool you want is sitting behind that station. Treat it like the only S-tier machine on your deck.

This page is the upgrade habit. Named recipes will appear as Saturday patches publish them. Until then we rank jobs the table unlocks, not invented item IDs. Pair it with Getting Started and the gear tier list.

Where to put it

One tile in from the edge, next to the chest room, on a plated floor when plates exist. If the table sits on the lip, a raider can freeze your account’s progress in one board. How to build repeats this because people still do it.

Do not hide the table on a third floor you cannot reach during a panic. You will need to dump wood into it while someone is knocking. Ground floor, protected, reachable.

What to feed it

Early resources are wood and whatever the water gives you. Do not sit on stacks “for a mega build.” Tiers print the pieces that make mega builds possible. If a code ever grants a resource bundle, dump it here before you buy a flag. What codes give exists for that argument.

Harvest around the hull in hour one. Raid for extra stacks only after the home ring is closed — see how to raid. Scripts that auto-craft exist in other raft games; for this title, auto-harpoon is the one already listed. It fills the bag, not the table. You still click the upgrade. Auto harpoon is optional and unsafe.

Unlock order (jobs, not fanfic names)

  1. Table tier itself. Always.
  2. Floor tiles and barrels so the square can grow.
  3. Walls and a door.
  4. Spikes / plates.
  5. Storage chests if they were gated.
  6. Cannons or turret pieces.
  7. Gather tools (harpoon / boom) if they were gated.
  8. Comfort last.

That order is the raft priority tool in sentence form. If the table offers a cosmetic before a wall, ignore the cosmetic. Thumbnails lie.

Sharing the table in a crew

Two friends dumping wood without talking will desync your plan. One person owns the table. Everyone else drops resources beside it. Solo versus crew calls this out because it is how crews wipe their own economy.

If a teammate “borrows” the table to print a palm, you now have a pretty raft and no plates. Kick that habit faster than you kick a raider.

When the table will not open

On mobile you are probably tapping the hotbar. On PC a build ghost may be in the way. Back up, lock the camera, try again. Controls cover the HUD fights. If the table is broken, you are in a rebuild emergency: repair that tile before you chase anyone.

After a patch

A Saturday drop can add a tier, change a cost, or move a gun behind a new gate. Walk up to the table after every update and screenshot the list. Compare with this page. If a wall recipe vanished, do not assume the wiki is wrong — assume the live table is canon and tell us by playing the new list. The updates hub will note confirmed shifts.

Why this machine outranks cannons

Cannons without a table that can repair them are fireworks. Walls without a table that can reprint them are a one-life gimmick. The table is the rebuild button. Protect it like a chest. Upgrade it like your loot depends on it, because it does.

Once the table is a habit, go print the ring in how to defend and only then look at raid loadouts.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for raft builders and raiders.

What does the Crafting Table do?

It is the upgrade gate. Higher tiers unlock better gear, walls, and raid tools. Feed it before you decorate.

Where should I place the table?

On a protected inner tile, not on the edge of the deck where raiders can break it first.

Should I save resources for later?

No. Spend into the next table tier and walls. Later is when someone else owns your wood.
