Build and Defend Your Raft Raiders and PvP

Build and Defend Your Raft is not a PvE shark simulator. The listing is explicit: raid other players’ rafts and steal their loot. Servers hold up to 18 people. That is enough for quiet building and enough for a wolfpack to land on your ladder at once.

This hub is about player roles, not a character gacha. There is no roster of named heroes. You bring a Roblox avatar, a deck, and a plan. The two deep pages are raid loadouts and solo versus crew. Pair them with how to raid and how to defend.

The three jobs in a lobby

Builder. Stays on the home raft, feeds the Crafting Table, expands floor, and never lets the chest room sit open. Best job in hour one.

Anchor. Watches the water, mans cannons, repairs spikes. Official art puts a gunner on the roof for a reason. If nobody is looking out, a swimmer is already on the planks.

Raider. Leaves with a light kit, breaks a weak neighbor, and sprints back. Useless if the home deck is a pallet. Read raid loadouts before you swim.

Solo players rotate all three jobs in short bursts. Crews assign them. The solo versus crew page explains how to split wood and who holds the door.

What a threatening raft looks like

Promo screenshots sell two silhouettes. The victim is a frowning avatar on four boards. The threat is a plated box with spikes, blue lamps, cannons firing, and a chest glowing inside. When you scout a target, look for:

• Open chests on the lip of the deck
• Missing walls on one side
• No roof gunner
• A long skinny dock you can walk like a ramp

Skip the fortress unless your crew is stacked. The layout list tells you which footprints leak.

Etiquette that still gets you loot

Raiding is the game. Griefing your own crew is not. If you queued with friends, do not harvest their table. If you are solo, assume every neighbor is a future boarder. Favoriting the place and joining the Raft Pirates group does not make the lobby friendly. It just keeps you in the Saturday patch notes.

Progress without becoming farm

New accounts die to impatience. They copy the hour-100 raft from the thumbnail, skip walls, then leave the server to “try PvP.” Stay in the beginner guide until you have a closed ring. Use the loot checklist before every swim. If codes ever exist, spend them on table tiers so you are not raiding with starter tools.

After a wipe

You will lose a raft. Rebuild square, not nostalgic. Recheck Saturday patches in case wall recipes changed while you were in the water. Then decide: another defense hour, or a revenge raid with a crew from solo versus crew.
