Build and Defend Your Raft Raft Spend Priority

The order that turns a four-plank spawn into a keep without wasting Saturday wood.

Last updated:

Raft Priority Order

This is the spend order. When you have one stack, you spend it on the first unchecked row, not on the prettiest row. It matches the tier list, Getting Started, and how to build. Keep it next to the loot checklist.

The list

  1. Crafting Table tier. Always first. Table guide.
  2. Floor to 3x3. You cannot fight on four planks.
  3. Barrel / float under new tiles.
  4. A chest in the center.
  5. Four walls, one door. How to defend.
  6. Table and chests moved off the lip.
  7. Spikes on the outer skirt. Defenses.
  8. Plates on economy tiles.
  9. Gather tool on hotbar. Gear.
  10. Expand to 4x4 if the ring still feels tiny.
  11. Corner cannons covering the real approach.
  12. Second floor with offset hatch. Layouts.
  13. Roof gun only if someone will actually man it.
  14. Lights on the outer ring.
  15. Raid with a light kit. Raid loadouts.
  16. Palms, flags, chairs, umbrellas.

Stop at the first red row. That is the whole tool.

Using a code

When a code works, dump it into the highest red row that a resource bundle can buy. Do not skip to 16. What codes give exists because people will try.

Using a crew

The treasurer owns rows 1 and 5. The builder owns 2–4 and 7–8. The raider does not touch the list until 15. Solo versus crew.

After a wipe

Start at 1 again. Do not rebuild the palm first because you miss it. Official hour-100 shots are a finish line. Your next hour is a 3x3 box.

After Saturday

If a patch adds a piece, insert it next to the job it belongs to — a new plate is row 8, a new gun is row 11, a new chair is still 16. Saturday patches is the reminder to re-read the live table before you skip a row.

What this is not

Not a script. Not a plugin. Not a damage calculator. Not official Raft Pirates software. If a site sells a “priority bot” EXE, close it. Scripts already cover injectors.

Why the list is long on purpose

New players want a three-step meme: wood, gun, raid. That meme is how pallets die. Sixteen rows look slow and they are still faster than rebuilding after a wipe. You can pause at row 8 for a whole session. That is a strong raft. You should not pause at row 16 because you skipped 5.

If the lobby is quiet, push further down the list. If the lobby is loud, freeze at the last green defensive row and ignore cannons until the door has been tested. How to defend is the live version of rows 5–8. How to raid is row 15 with extra swimming.

Wood you steal still follows the list. Stolen crates are not a license to print chairs. Dump, close, spend on the highest red row. That is how raids fund a keep instead of a picnic.

Print the sixteen rows in your head until they are muscle. Then you can close this tab and still not buy the palm first.

If you forget the list mid-fight, remember four words: table, square, walls, guns. Everything after that is comfort. Comfort is allowed. Comfort is not allowed to skip the four words. That is the entire argument of this tool, restated so a loud lobby cannot talk you out of a door.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for raft builders and raiders.

What should I upgrade first?

The Crafting Table, then a 3x3 floor, then walls. Cosmetics are last.

Where do cannons sit in the order?

After spikes and plates. Guns without a ring are fireworks.

Can I skip to raids?

Only after row 15’s prerequisites are green. The loot checklist must agree.
